Cover Reveal At The Nerd Daily!and other fun updates Aug 7, 2025 Things are starting to feel really real. The Nerd Daily (a UK online source of book reviews, previews, and interviews) was kind enough to feature the cover reveal for all three books in my upcoming trilogy. So without further ado — ta da!! You can click the preview below to go to the full article, but remember to hit the back button to come back for the rest of the news! Each book is a stand-alone novel centering on a different mythology/pantheon (Greek, Slavic, and Maya). Book one, While the Gods Sleep, is up for preorder now at Amazon and coming soon to all the usual places. This means the time has come to plead the case for preorders…Didja know — Showing interest in a book that hasn’t even been released tickles the algorithms to keep making that book more visible. Also, when those orders (the more the better!) get filled all at once on release day, it’s like crack cocaine to those algorithms. Meaning the book might actually have a chance to rise above the mash pit of other books and find its audience. That’s the hope, anyway, and you…yes, you…could help. If this book sounds like your jam (Greek mythology, contemporary fantasy, stand-alone novel, dark fantasy adventure with lots of twists—seriously, what’s not to like, right?), then please consider that preorder that’ll cost you less than a coffee. But, hey, get that coffee too. You deserve it! Well, that’s the main thing occupying my time right now, but in my free time I: Am reading:Cibola Burn (book 4 in the Expanse universe by James S. A. Corey) Am watching:Foundation (plus re-watching The Expanse for the umpteenth time) Am having:Really weird dreams about space. While I LOVE the Expanse books, it’s a diversion from my mainstay diet of reading mostly fantasy. I recently finished Jelena Dunato’s Dark Woods, Deep Water, enticed by the fact she weaves some Slavic myth and lore into the story. It started with getting to know three POV characters and their backstory, but once it picked up, it steam-rolled right through to the end. Great story and writing, especially if you like a stand-alone epic fantasy vibe with folktales tied in. Cute Animal VideoA mountain lion learns Newton's Third Law of Motion: That’s it for now, except that if you heard about the latest Substack controversy (pushing a very not good thing out as a recommended read) it’s got me looking for a new platform—again. sigh You won’t need to do a thing. If I move, you come with, but if my emails arrive in your inbox from a new host and with a new look, not to worry, it’s still me. Until next time, happy reading!
